Samantha Evelyn COLE was born on April 20, 1843, in Rives, Michigan. Her father, Jesse W. Cole, was 38, and her mother, Mary Cornelia King, was 35. Samantha died on September 5, 1914, in Evart, Michigan, at the age of 71, and was buried at Oakdale Cemetery in Hersey, Osceola, Michigan..

They had nine children together during their marriage - Jesse, Charles (1870-1870), Daniel, Cora, Nellie, Blanche, Flora, Ora and Forrest.
